Bonus Pre-Conference Networking Panel with Linda Ruggeri, Brittany Dowdle, Vanessa Tharp, and Cay Templeton

February 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EST

Linda Ruggeri

Linda Ruggeri is a bilingual (English/Spanish) freelance nonfiction editor, and an award-winning author based out Los Angeles. Her book Networking for Freelance Editors won a 2022 Benjamin Franklin Silver Medal award. Linda has given networking presentations for the Editorial Freelancer's Association, the Professional Editors Network, the Publishing Professionals Network as well as many universities. In addition to being an editor, Linda is an avid urban gardener, a baker, and a mom. She would gladly trade any night out for a good nonfiction book and sleeping bag in her tree house.

Brittany Dowdle

Brittany is always surrounded by books, and that’s how she likes it. As a freelance editor with over ten years’ experience in the publishing industry, Brittany's approach to editing combines empathy and enthusiasm, passion and purpose, balance and deliberation. She's also the coauthor of Networking for Freelance Editors. She is an award-winning author, copyeditor and proofreader, specializing in fiction (SF/F, historical, mystery) and creative nonfiction. Since 2011, she's been providing authors and publishers with professional editing services via Word Cat Editorial.

Cay Templeton

Cay grew up in the small, country town of Middletown, Maryland. The quiet gave her time to wander, think, and to listen. As Cay grew up, she learned to recognize the different sides people take: rich versus poor, liberal versus conservative, and—after she moved out to Los Angeles—city versus country. She holds an MA in creative writing from Wilkes University, and got to work on National Treasure 2, Book of Secrets after graduating. She works in film and television alongside her work as a novelist.

Vanessa Tharp

Vanessa collaborates with people doing good in the world to create epic events, conferences, retreats, business strategies and product launches to help you gain control and a renewed passion.
She works to organize your business, life, and everything in between and provide you with a roadmap with actionable steps and support you with accountability coaching. She brings 15 years of education, leadership, community building and event planning to the table. Organization, advocacy, and planning is my second nature and I do it all with an enthusiastic and positive attitude. She is a big picture and innovative thinker with a keen awareness to small and crucial details.
