WIP Sponsor Series: Aligning the Protagonist’s Journey: An Introduction to Pairing Story Structure with Character Arcs with Sara Letourneau

July 23 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm EDT

Are you worried that your character-driven story might not be hitting the important “beats”? Or that you’re too focused on the plot and not enough on your protagonist’s internal journey? This webinar by book coach, editor, and author Sara Letourneau (Heart of the Story Editorial & Coaching Services) will introduce you to a new way of approaching story structure and character arcs by ensuring they align with each other. You'll learn how to look at story structure using four acts instead of three (which, surprisingly, makes this process easier!) and how a character’s motivations and emotions influence their actions at the most crucial points in the story. And while this webinar is an introduction to this “alignment,” you’ll come away with an improved understanding of how these two major elements in fiction-writing work—and a desire to take that even deeper.

Sara Letourneau is the book coach, editor, and writing workshop instructor at Heart of the Story Editorial & Coaching Services. She especially enjoys working with female-identifying authors, entrepreneurs, influencers, and other writers to help them develop the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need so they can finish their manuscripts, ensure they're ready for publication, and achieve their writing and publishing goals while embracing their most authentic creative selves. Her expertise ranges from speculative fiction, literary fiction, and YA fiction, to memoir, business books, and spiritual and self-help nonfiction. Sara is also the author of the poetry collection Wild Gardens (Kelsay Books, late summer 2024) and the cofounder of the Pour Me a Poem open mic in Mansfield, Massachusetts. Her poetry has appeared is numerous literary journals, magazines, and anthologies. You can learn more about working with Sara at
